Struggling U.S. automakers General Motors (GM) and Chrysler will skip this year's Tokyo Motor Show, Kyodo News reported, citing industry officials.

They failed to register by the deadline at the end of 2008 for the October show, an official at the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said, according to Kyodo.
