STOCKHOLM--Swedbank AB said Tuesday that the Swedish financial supervisory authority will map the events leading to an IT incident at the bank last month that resulted in incorrect balances on customers' accounts.

"Swedbank suffered from a substantial IT-disturbance during the night between April 28 and 29 which affected our customers," Swedbank Chief Executive Jens Henriksson said.

"This is very serious, and we take forceful measures to prevent this from happening again," he said.

The Swedish lender said it has continuously informed the Swedish FSA according to established procedure, during and after the disturbance.
