DICOM Group plc: PRODUCT LAUNCH

- New VRS version 3.0 for the Electronic Data Capture market

DICOM Group plc, a global leader in the Electronic Data and Document capture
market, announces that its US-based product development division, Kofax Image
Products, has launched a new version of its award-winning VirtualReScan ("VRS")
automated document image perfecting solution. Version 3.0 further increases the
addressable market for VRS offering enhanced support for a wide range of the
latest colour, ISIS and TWAIN scanners.

VRS automatically straightens, crops and optimises exposure of scanned documents
in real time. The result: VRS dramatically improves the readability of scanned
documents for document users and for optical character recognition of text. A
recent study by US research firm Doculabs determined that VRS improves optical
character recognition accuracy by more than 35 percent.

The release of VRS version 3.0 has immediately increased the number of
VRS-certified scanners from 30 to over 50.

VRS was introduced in 1999 and has become the de facto standard in the high
performance scanner market. Leading scanner manufacturers, such as Fujitsu and
Bell & Howell have embraced VRS technology, signing OEM agreements to
incorporate VRS into their production scanners. In addition Kodak have
integrated VRS with their recently launched i200 Series Kodak Perfect Page
scanners.

VRS has twice been named "Best of AIIM" (the Association for Information and
Image Management); once in 1999 for the hardware version, and again in 2001 for
Software VRS. VRS was also names as "Product of the Year 2001" by Transform
Magazine.

Commenting, Arnold von Buren, Chief Executive Officer of DICOM Group plc said:

"Since the launch of VRS in 1999 we have continued to demonstrate to thousands
of customers that it brings clear and measurable benefits to their business.
Using VRS as part of the document capture process means lower operating costs
due to increased automated recognition accuracy, fewer rescans, easier to read
images, and a significant reduction in the manual labour required to presort
documents and change scanner settings. We are very pleased that this latest
version of VRS brings these benefits to even more customers through the next
generation of scanners."
