Spirent Communications(TM) Introduces VoIP Support for Coppermax(TM) Company Continues Leadership in DSL Testing with New VoIP Feature Set LAS VEGAS, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- USTA -- Spirent Communications (NYSE:SPM) (LONDON: SPT) , recognized by Frost and Sullivan as a leader in worldwide DSL service assurance deployments, today introduced VoIP support for the CopperMax(R) product line. Spirent's CopperMax portfolio is on display at booth #231 at USTA's TELECOM '04. The new CopperMax VoIP feature accelerates service turn-up and maintenance accuracy, speed, and responsiveness for service providers offering VoIP over DSL. With this new feature, providers have the ability of emulating the customer CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) by generating and receiving an IP call using both SIP and H.323 signaling protocols. This flexibility is important for diagnosing CPE related configuration and Voice Gateway problems. Once the call is established, performance analysis can be performed on the service using industry standard R-Factor techniques and providing the user a MOS score. This operation segments the service provider's network for quick trouble identification and resolution and allows the user the ability to see exactly what the customer is experiencing.
