Collins & Aikman Announces Retirement of Michael A. Mitchell, President, Global Commercial Operations TROY, Mich., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Collins & Aikman Corporation announced today the retirement of Michael A. Mitchell, President, Global Commercial Operations, effective Friday, February 27, 2004. The Company's customer business units and global product and technology development group will now report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, David A. Stockman. "Mike is a talented, professional and highly respected leader in our industry and has been a key contributor in our recent growth," said Mr. Stockman. "We are appreciative of Mike's leadership and wish him well in his retirement." Mitchell had served as president, Global Commercial Operations since January, 2002. He joined Collins & Aikman through the acquisition of Textron Automotive's Trim Division in 2001 where he served as Executive Vice President of Business and Product Development. With over 40 years of industry experience, Mitchell has held senior management positions at Chrysler Corporation and American Motors Corporation. Mitchell received his Master's of Science Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University and Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Wisconsin.
