Caterpillar Says 32.5% of Its 2018 Electrical Energy Came From Renewable or Alternative Sources

Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) said Thursday that in 2018, 32.5% of its
electrical energy was from renewable or alternative sources.
For the year, 17.4% of electrical energy was from renewable
sources, the machinery firm said as part of its 2018 Sustainability
Progress Report.
Greenhouse gas intensity has decreased 44% since the base year
of 2006, the company said. Caterpillar said its absolute greenhouse
gas emissions decreased by 26% from the base year, but increased
4.7% from 2017 to 2018.
Water consumption intensity decreased 38% since 2006 and 19%
from 2017 to 2018, the report said. Absolute water consumption
decreased by 35% since 2006 and reduced 5% from 2017 to 2018,
Caterpillar said.
