The residents of the El-Dorado Heights community have a new neighbor, thanks to hard working AmSouth Bank volunteers, and Clay County Habitat for Humanity project coordinators. AmSouth provided construction costs and arranged volunteer labor, more than 200 hours total, to help build the new home for Sarah and Frankie Wheeler and their three children. The new home represents an estimated corporate investment back in to the community of $136,800. "Our completion of this fifth Habitat home in Clay County proves that we're 'The Relationship People' both on and off the job," said Jacksonville City President Marty Lanahan. "We build relationships all the time, and working with our great partners at Habitat in Clay County, together we're building stronger neighborhoods and improving the lives of the families like the Wheelers." Erika Woodcock, Business Manager for Habitat for Humanity in Clay County, said the benefits of this house reach beyond this one family. "AmSouth's partnership with Habitat in building the home in El-Dorado Heights will continue to reap rewards. As the Wheeler family repays Habitat, we will use the repayments toward future home builds. Meanwhile, the family will receive our support on how to be a successful homeowner and how to preserve the property, increasing its value and adding to the family's financial stability."
