Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX)(NASDAQ: MOLXA) announces its safety program training series, “Working Together for a Safer Workplace”, that aims at educating electrical and safety engineers, electricians and maintenance personal and electrical contractors to common electrical safety hazards, as well as providing a safety audit of the worksite and safety information from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

“Molex has committed its manufacturing resources to a vast array of innovative standard and custom Woodhead® products designed to perform in the toughest environments while enhancing worker safety. As part of our commitment, we are reaching out to electrical contractors and other end users and OEMs across the country with our safety training program,” said Scott Hagen, global product manager, commercial programs, Molex Incorporated.

Molex’s safety training program includes a one hour training presentation that will provide an overview of safety codes for various applications along with OSHA and NFPA requirements and focus on potential safety hazards found in many worksites. It concludes with a facility safety audit with a walk-through checklist. The safety audit will point out any safety violations found in the worksite and provide safer solutions.

“We hope that our safety program will protect end users from potential fines and provide a safer worksite with shorter downtime and longer-performing products,” adds Hagen. “In addition, companies that are engaged in an active safety program should expect to see improved productivity, less work stoppage, lower accident rates and insurance premium reductions.”

Molex distributor Carlton Bates Company, a subsidiary of Wesco Distribution Inc., (NYSE: WCC) created a safety team to develop an industrial safety solutions brochure and website, www.carlton-bates.com/safety, and was looking for a safety training program to meet their customers’ needs.

Mark Gilliford Supplier Relations Manager for Carlton Bates said, “The safety team’s initiatives were to make it easier for our customers to identify and find solutions for the machine and personal safety requirements of UL and NFPA. When Molex showed us its safety program training series, we felt it was an ideal match.”

He continues, “The components of the Molex safety series provide everything our customers need to easily understand the safety requirements. We are excited to be a partner of this program.”
