Ivanhoe Energy Inc. (the
“Company”) announced today that it has accepted the resignation of Mr. Peter G. Meredith as a member of the Board of
Directors effective immediately. Mr. Meredith did not resign because of any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating
to the Company’s operations, policies, or practices.
On December 12, 2014, the Company issued a
press release reporting the resignation of Mr. Meredith from the Company’s Board of Directors. A copy of this press release
is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
