The Alabama Secretary of State’s Office is proud to announce the
newest addition to its suite of online business services, the
Foreign LLC Filing system. This convenient, online application will
allow out-of-state entrepreneurs, as well as existing out-of-state
organizations wishing to conduct business in Alabama, to file for
an LLC through the Secretary of State's website. Customers,
especially those filing documents in bulk, can now say goodbye to
mailing in their forms and payments thanks to the new service.
In addition to the benefit to the public, the electronic filing
system will add efficiencies such as time and cost savings to the
Secretary’s office; employees will be able to focus on other
important tasks so that they may serve Alabama’s citizens more
effectively. “We developed the Foreign LLC filing system with
businesses in mind,” said Rebecca Morris, Director of Business
Services. “We wanted to make it easy and convenient for business
owners to file in Alabama, while at the same time reducing the
volume of paperwork handled in our office.”
The electronic Foreign LLC Filing system joins a long list of
electronic business services launched under Secretary Beth
Chapman’s term. Additional services include:
- UCC Filings and Searches
- Business Name Reservations
- Certificates of Existence
- Certified Business Documents
