                        Acquisitions being negotiated

                            Suspension of listing


The Board of Gyrus notes the recent movement in the Company's share price, and
announces that it is in advanced negotiations to make two acquisitions. Due to
the size of one acquisition in relation to Gyrus, the UK Listing Authority
will classify the transaction as a reverse take-over under Chapter 10 of the
UK Listing rules. The Company has therefore requested, and has been granted, a
suspension of listing.

Further announcements relating to the proposed acquisitions will be made in
due course by the Company.
