Appointment of Director

Mr William R Cotter

The Directors are pleased to announce that Mr William Cotter has accepted an
invitation to join the Board as a non-executive Director with effect from 19
December 2006.

Gartmore Irish Growth Fund Plc was set up in 1995 with the objective of
providing Shareholders with long-term capital growth through investment in
quoted companies, which are either incorporated in the Republic of Ireland or
Northern Ireland or, if elsewhere, derive the majority of their turnover or
profits from the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.

The Company has maintained a strong record of adding value for investors. The
NAV at 30 September 2006 represents a compound rate of growth of 20.7% per
annum since the Company's inception in 1995.

Gartmore Irish Growth Fund PLC is chaired by Mr Harry Sheridan. The other
Directors are Mr Robin Baillie, Mr Gavin Caldwell, Mr Sean Fitzpatrick and Mr
Richard Milliken

The Company has been advised of the following:

Mr Cotter has no beneficial interest in the shares of the Company.
