'HEART ATTACK!'
Heart 106.2 now the most listened to commercial radio station in London
Rajar figures released today reveal, for the first time ever, that Chrysalis's
Heart 106.2 is officially London's most listened to commercial radio station.
In the station's 9th year of broadcasting -
- Heart 106.2 has recorded a market share of 7.2% - the highest of any
London commercial radio station.
- The station has recorded its highest ever total weekly hours, now
standing at over 16.2 million - making Heart 106.2 the most listened to
commercial radio station in London.
- The station's reach is also at an all time high, with over 1.94
million listeners tuning in each week.
- In the lucrative 25-44 target audience, Heart 106.2 beats Capital
95.8 in reach, hours and share.
The Galaxy network continues to prosper with a 4% quarter on quarter improvement
in reach, the network now attracts 2.3m listeners across its 4 stations.
Galaxy's share of listening is also up with more listeners listening for longer,
reflecting the successful programming changes to the station made during the
summer, with an increased focus on 'new' music.
LBC, in Chrysalis's first year of ownership, has increased reach by 16.3% on the
lucrative FM frequency and now attracts 558,000 listeners to the station. In
addition to increasing the number of listeners tuning in to 97.3 FM, there has
also been excellent progress made in moving the station to a younger listener
profile, with 40% of all listeners now under 45, up from 37% in the last
quarter.
