Ericsson chosen as UMTS supplier by ONE

Ericsson has been selected by Austrian operator ONE as a supplier of  UMTS
in  Austria.  Roll  out of the 3G network will start  immediately  and  is
planned to be in commercial service by the middle of 2002.

"With Ericsson, who is far ahead in 3G, we have found a perfect partner to
build  up  the new UMTS technology," said Jurgen Peetz, Technical Director
of ONE.

Kjell  Johansson,  President  of Ericsson  Austria  said,  "We  see  ONE's

acknowledgment  of  Ericsson's  global  leadership  in  3G  and  of  ONE's

Ericsson's  UMTS  3G network solution will enable ONE to offer  new  high-
speed  mobile UMTS quality services and to continue its role as  a  market
innovator within mobile services and applications.

The  UMTS contract with ONE is further confirmation of Ericsson's position
as  the  world's leading supplier of 3G mobile systems. Ericsson  has  now
been named as vendor in 24 third generation agreements announced to date.

In  October  1998, the communications company ONE launched Austria's  only
nation-wide  GSM-1800 mobile telephony network. At the  end  of  the  year
2000,  ONE  had  1,400 employees and 1.3 million customers (mobile,  fixed
line and Internet). Net turnover in 2000 amounted to ATS 5.8 billion.  ONE
has  a  population coverage of 97 percent. Besides mobile  telephony,  ONE
also offers the Internet product i-ONE, the fixed-line solution f-ONE, and
-  together with Priority Telecom - the convergence product Take Two.  ONE
is  the  only  mobile telephony operator in all of Austria to offer  HSCSD
