TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA on Friday reported an operational disruption and gas emissions at its oil refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.

"The Cogen [Cogeneration] Unit experienced unit upset due to a loss of NOx [nitrogen oxides] steam injection," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, noting the incident happened Thursday night and lasted about two hours.

"Unit procedures were followed," the refinery said. "The event ended when the NOx steam injection flow was re-established."

The 225,000-barrel-a-day TotalEnergies Port Arthur refinery is located 95 miles east of Houston.
