Commitment to Responsible Resin Stewardship
Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) (NYSE: WMS), a leading
global manufacturer of water management products today announced
that it has become a Blue Level Member of Operation Clean Sweep®
(OCS), the international program to reduce plastic resin loss into
the environment. Joining this program is consistent with its core
values and leadership in sustainable operations.
“We are honored to be part of this important effort to prevent
plastic waste from entering the environment,” stated Scott Barbour,

manufacturing process and underscores our commitment to best
practices in facilities management and operations, including
responsible resin handling and pellet containment from raw material
delivery, to manufacturer of the finished product.”
“During the past several years we have increased ADS’ commitment
to sustainability. Our recently announced 10-year sustainability
goals are built around our motto, ‘Our Reason is Water.’ These
goals include a commitment to increasing our use of recycled
plastic to 1 billion pounds, doubling our consumption over the next
ten years. Being part of Operation Clean Sweep and following its
procedures and best management practices, many of which we already
have in place, will enhance our position as a good steward of
responsible plastics usage in the community.”
OCS is a joint program of the Plastics Industry Association
(PLASTICS) and the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry
Council (ACC) that is designed to strengthen efforts to educate and
change behavior in the plastics industry with a goal of zero
plastic resin loss.
“Reaching the OCS Blue Program Level is a great achievement
within the plastics industry,” stated Patrick Krieger, Vice
President, Sustainability, PLASTICS. “This accomplishment reflects
a company’s commitment to eliminate plastic resin loss by
conducting site audits, increasing employee awareness, and
improving processes and procedures at their facilities. We applaud
Advanced Drainage Systems, and its numerous participating
facilities, for making this commitment to keeping these materials
out of the environment.”
