Household and personal care products maker McBride PLC (MCB.LN) Thursday said it has appointed Chris Bull as its Chief Executive.

Bull will take up his new position May 4 from Unilever PLC (ULVR.LN), where most recently he was Chief Customer Officer. He spent 25 years at Unilever, and from 2003 to 2007 was Chief Executive of Unilever Poland and Baltics.

As part of that role he was responsible for setting up private label arrangements in Eastern Europe and for the manufacturing processes involved in household and personal care products.

He replaces Miles Roberts, who leaves McBride at the end of this month.

McBride Chairman Ian Napier said in a statement Thursday that Bull's experience will be of "enormous benefit" to McBride.
