LIMA, Peru--Peruvian base metals miner Sociedad Minera Cerro
Verde (CVERDEC1.VL) posted third-quarter earnings of $219.7
million, up from $164.1 million in the same period a year earlier,
boosted by better prices for copper.
The company said revenue totaled $575 million, an increase from
$470.1 million in the same period a year earlier.
Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX) has a 53.56% stake
in Cerro Verde, which is one of Peru's biggest copper
producers.
