Air Products & Chemicals Inc. on Thursday said its board raised the quarterly dividend by 8%, to $1.75 from $1.62.

The new payout, equal to $7 a year, represents an annual yield of about 2.24% based on Wednesday's closing price of $312.05, up from 2.08%.

The Allentown, Pa., industrial gases company said the increased dividend is payable May 8 to shareholders of record April 3, adding that this marks the 41st consecutive year that it has raised the payout.
