The Terrace Hill Iowa Governor’s Residence & National
Historic Landmark launched a new redesigned website which will
serve as a central hub for information regarding the historic
Governor’s Mansion and upcoming events. The website, which can be
found at https://terracehill.iowa.gov, was designed using a
responsive design, meaning visitors using their smartphone or
tablet to view the website will enjoy the same functionality as
visitors using a desktop computer.
The website provides visitors with access to news, information
about guided tours, how to make a reservation or how they can
volunteer. Visitors can also easily find information about upcoming
events or simply find Terrace Hill’s contact information.
“The redesign stemmed from a desire to open a new dialogue with
site visitors and provide content in a streamlined format,” said
Diane Becker, Administrator and Assistant to the First Lady. “The
team spent considerable time ensuring the websites will serve as an
essential resource for citizens seeking more information about our
Historic Landmark.”
The website was redesigned in partnership with Iowa Interactive,
LLC, of Des Moines. Terrace Hill Iowa Governor’s Residence &
National Historic Landmark and Iowa Interactive operate under a
self-funded model in which no additional tax dollars or county
funds were used to develop or maintain the website.
Terrace Hill Iowa Governor’s Residence & National Historic
Landmark is the eighth state agency to implement Iowa Interactive’s
content management system (CMS). In addition to the CMS product,
Iowa Interactive, manages the state’s official Web portal,
Iowa.gov, and specializes in online government applications.
