Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Gyrus Group PLC received today, a notification from Standard Life Investments
informing them that following a purchase of 150,000 Shares on behalf of
Standard Life Group on 3rd November, 1999, they have a notifiable interest in
1,020,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 3.293 per cent. of the Company's
issued Ordinary Share capital.  These shares are registered in the name of
Stanlife Nominees Limited.
