Industry-leading OLED microdisplays from eMagin Corporation (AMEX:EMA) provide power-efficient information displays for Liteye Systems' new LE-700 and LE-750 head-mounted displays (HMDs). Based on Liteye's new patented prismatic optic, the new 700 series HMDs also take advantage of the company's patented universal mount, which lets users locate the display in virtually any position. "The 700 series design is based on users' comments and recommendations," said Tom Scott, CEO, Liteye Systems. "Many end-users liked the clarity of our LE-500 in the occluded mode but wanted an even more rugged, more flexible version. When we combined our new optic design with our new, easy-to-use universal mount, the LE-700 proved ideal for many of their applications. The LE-750 provides a see-through configuration that fulfills the rest." The LE-700 and LE-750 are the company's first HMDs to ship with its new patented universal mount, which allows the user to position the HMD precisely for comfortable viewing, truly personalizing the LE-700. Simply loosening a single knob enables easy adjustment of the full mount. Once the HMD is in position, tightening the knob locks that position and holds it over repeated usage. Designed and built for the industrial inspection and remote medical testing equipment, the 700 series delivers full SVGA resolution in analog RGB or NTSC/PAL image, even in the remotest of areas. Like all Liteye personal displays, the 700 series is built rugged and water tight for use in any environment. It employs eMagin OLED microdisplays for power efficiency and ready operation, even in extreme heat and cold. Its new prismatic optic provides the clearest image and the greatest eye relief of any product in its class. "The combination of proven microdisplay technologies with the new lens and universal mount have resulted in Liteye's most versatile display solution yet," said Susan Jones, executive vice president and CMO, eMagin Corporation. "Liteye's innovative optic and mount make the LE-700 and LE-750 one of the most broadly useful HMDs available for medical and industrial applications." The Liteye family of HMDs has proved its utility and performance in use in such diverse applications as IR cameras, portable medical equipment, weapons systems, and dismounted soldier programs globally.
