Explanation of Responses:
(1) Pursuant to the Executive Retention Agreement between the reporting person and Hi-Crush Services LLC, a subsidiary of Hi-Crush Inc. (the "Issuer"), the Issuer made a one-time cash payment, subject to repayment based on certain conditions, to the reporting person in exchange for the forfeiture of all outstanding equity awards granted by the Issuer, the forfeiture of an annual cash bonus opportunity for 2020 and continued service with the Issuer or one of its subsidiaries.
