The Company announces that, largely in order to fund the tax liability of his
recent exercise of options Chris Chedgzoy disposed of 2,458,438 shares at
31.75p on 29 January 1999.

Chris Chedgzoy's total holding following this disposal is 2,277,662 which is
equivalent to 0.44% of the current issued share capital of 508,213,798
ordinary shares of 2p.
