McCarthy was the original Candie's girl in 1997, when a print ad
featuring Jenny posing nude on a toilet wearing nothing but her
Candie's created a media frenzy. Last season, American Idol winner
and double platinum recording artist, Kelly Clarkson, appeared
sprawled in a bathtub adorned in over a million dollars worth of
jewelry and nothing but her Candie's. The new campaign features
Kelly Clarkson and Jenny McCarthy in compromising and often
hilarious situations, including together in a bathtub adorned with
over one million dollars of Judith Ripka jewelry, as well as
recreating the iconic "toilet" ad. "I feel good about being back on
the toilet," said actress, Jenny McCarthy. "When I first got the
phone call from Candie's, I was so excited. I thought, wow, it's so
legendary to begin with. Everyone still brings up the Candie's
campaign of me on the toilet, and to do it with Kelly Clarkson, I
thought, that's genius. I can't wait." Commenting on Candie's
creative, Kelly Clarkson stated, "It's kind of an empowering thing
for girls. The concept behind Candie's ads is realism and that is
why everybody really likes them." Neil Cole, CEO, Candie's, Inc.,
stated, "It is difficult to break through the clutter and be
noticed in advertising. We strive to be innovative and entertaining
in our advertising campaigns. Our customers really relate to Jenny
and Kelly because of their fascinating success stories." Commenting
on creative, Dari Marder, Creative Director, Candie's, Inc.,
stated, "The idea developed on the bathroom set of our last shoot
when Kelly, in conversation, mentioned how much she loved Jenny's
'toilet ad' and we thought wouldn't it be amazing if we could bring
Jenny back and right into Kelly's bathroom. We were thrilled both
girls share the Candie's sensibility and teamed up for what is sure
to become one of our brand's most loved campaigns." The ads will
make their debut in the March 8th issue ofUS Weekly and continue in
run in April and May publications such as Seventeen, YM, Teen
People, Elle Girl, Teen Vogue, Hollywood Life and Jane. The
campaign was created by Candie's in-house creative team and shot by
