John F. Smith, GM group vice president of North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, will serve as the honorary chairman for the 2004 event. Smith had been general manager of Field Sales, Service and Parts since January 2002. Prior to that, he was general manager of Service Parts Operations since February 2000, general manager of Cadillac Division since February 1997, president of Allison Transmissionsince January 1994, and GM Europe vice president of planning since August 1989. Robert A. (Bob) Lutz, GM vice chairman, Product Development and chairman, GM North America, will serve as chief judge for the event. Lutz also is a member of the Concoursd'Elegance at Cranbrook advisory board.
