Public sector web and communications professionals will convene
Oct. 7-8 in Oklahoma City’s Metro Technology Center for the
Information Professionals for Oklahoma (IPro) 2013 Fall Conference.
The conference will feature a keynote address by State of Oklahoma
Chief Information Officer Alex Pettit and a Disaster Recovery Panel
from those who were in the ditches during the May tornados this
year.
“This is the third year for this event, and we are very excited
about what is in store for our participants. The primary focus of
the conference is on practical solutions presented by those who are
designing, developing, or managing web presence, web services, and
web communications in their organization,” said Andy Behrens, IPro
president. “Our goal is to create a place for any web and
communications professional looking to enhance their skills, to
convene, discuss, and learn.” Behrens also said IPro seeks to meet
the unique needs of public sector web managers by increasing their
knowledge of web development, usability and accessibility.
The two-day, statewide conference grew out of a need to provide
an Oklahoma conference created specifically for local and state
government web developers, web managers, public information
officers, communication specialists, IT program managers and
individuals interested in the latest web development
techniques.
Conference sessions are tailored to public sector communications
and web professionals from state agencies, city government and
services, higher education institutions, corporations, and
developers interested in skill building.
Conference speakers will provide ideas, designs, and information
agencies can begin implementing immediately following the
conference. The conference is also an opportunity to meet and
network with people in the industry.
