                                  MEDISYS PLC
                   Malaysian Distribution Agreement signed;
                      Initial order worth #400,000 placed

Medisys PLC, the medical systems company, announces that it has entered into
an agreement with Antah Sri Radin Sdn. Bhd. for the exclusive distribution
of its NicSafe 1800 needle disposal system in Malaysia. Antah Sri
Radin, a well established healthcare distributor based in Kuala Lumpur, will
shortly be acquired by Tenggara Capital Berhad, a publicly-traded company on
the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and a leading supplier
of healthcare and diagnostic products in Malaysia. Antah Sri Radin has
placed an initial order of 5,000 disposal units and 20,000 replacement
cartridges, worth approximately #400,000. The first tranche of 2,000 units
and 5,000 cartridges is due for delivery within 30 days.

The NicSafe 1800, the only United States FDA-approved device of its
kind, instantly destroys hypodermic needles at the point of use. The system
is marketed to medical institutions and private practitioners as a
cost-effective way of disposing of used needles that can also reduce the
incidence of needlestick injuries among healthcare workers. Medisys
estimates there are more than 2,000,000 needlestick injuries worldwide on
an annual basis, creating a multi-billion pound problem for healthcare
providers.

"We view the NicSafe needle disposal system as a cost-effective means of
dealing with what is rapidly becoming a major public health problem
throughout Southeast Asia - the effective removal of used needles from the
medical waste stream," commented Ralph Yapp, CEO of Antah Sri Radin. "The
NicSafe 1800 will become a focus product for our service to hospitals and
private practitioners, in addition to our existing pharmaceutical and
diagnostic product distribution."

The Tenggara Capital Group is also affiliated with the International
Medical College in Kuala Lumpur, which teaches medicine and pharmacy and
which is the first private college in the Asia-Pacific offering a
partnership programme with 20 medical schools overseas. The International
Medical College will be one of the first institutions in Malaysia to be
fully equipped with its NicSafe 1800.

Medisys Managing Director Michael J. Coy commented:

"We are advised that the Malaysian Ministry of Health is considering
aggressive regulation of medical and bio-hazardous waste to deal with a
problem rapidly growing throughout most of the world - greater amounts of
pathogenic materials needing to be disposed. We expect the NIC product range
to be at the forefront of rapid, on-site bio-hazardous waste management. We
are delighted to have a company of the experience and proven reputation of
Antah Sri Radin to represent our products in Malaysia."
