Eastern Platinum Limited: Appointment of J. Merfyn Roberts as a Director

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 4, 2006) - Mr. Ian Rozier, President and CEO of Eastern
Platinum Limited ("the Company") (TSX:ELR)(AIM:ELR), is pleased to announce that following the Company's Annual
General Meeting held on November 22, 2006, Mr. John Merfyn Roberts (56) of London, England has been appointed
to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Roberts has over 30 years experience in the international mining industry and mining finance. He holds a
B.Sc. Honours in Geology from Liverpool University, an M.Sc. from Oxford University, and is also a Chartered
Accountant in the U.K.

As a geologist, Mr. Roberts worked throughout Africa and subsequently became 'in house' investment advisor for
Charter Consolidated and the Minorco/Anglo group, heading up their Firecrest Investment Group in London, U.K.
He is well acquainted with the South African mining industry and the U.K. investment community. He is a regular
commentator on the resource sector and the stock market for BBC Television and BBC Radio.

"With the Company's rapid transition from a developer to a producer of platinum group metals and our AIM
listing, there has been increased investor interest from the U.K., Switzerland and other European countries and
we intend to establish a higher corporate profile in the U.K.," stated Ian Rozier, President and CEO.

"Mr. Roberts' experience in the industry will be invaluable in this regard and we welcome him as a director of
the Company and look forward to his participation in the Company's affairs," he stated.

Currently, Mr. Roberts holds directorships in Match Number Limited, Ocean Resources Capital Holding plc, Ocean
Resources Capital Limited, Toledo Copper Corporation plc, Ramblers Metals and Mining plc, Rambler Mines
Limited, Central China Goldfields plc, European Minerals Corporation, and Arian Silver Corporation.

In the past five years Mr. Roberts has held the following directorships; ARC Advisors Limited, Country Circle
Limited, Beaver Capital Ltd., Endeavour Financial Limited, Dragon Capital Corporation Limited, Estelar
Resources plc, Resources Investment Trust plc, Global Nickel plc, UMC Energy plc, Sanatana Diamonds
Corporation.

Pursuant to the Company's Stock Option Plan, 250,000 incentive stock options have been granted to Mr. Roberts.
The options are exercisable for a five year period at $1.70 per share.

There are no further disclosures required under Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
