Consumer products giant Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (RB.LN) Tuesday said it has appointed Liz Doherty as Chief Financial Officer, with effect from January next year.

U.K. national Doherty, 52, will replace outgoing CFO Colin Day. There will be period of handover following her arrival, the group said.

Doherty has been CFO at Australian supply chain and information management solutions provider Brambles Industries PLC for two years. Prior to Brambles, Doherty was group international finance director of U.K. retail giant Tesco PLC (TSCO.LN). Before Tesco, she had a 22 year career at Unilever PLC (UN, UL).

Before she takes up the post at Reckitt Benckiser, Doherty will stand down from her role as a non-executive director of brewing group SABMiller PLC (SAB.JO), the company said in a statement. This is a position she has held since 2006.

At 1113 GMT, Reckitt Benckiser shares were down 39 pence, or 1%, at 3545p in a lower London market.
