Regulatory News :
PSA Peugeot Citroën (Paris:UG) :
At a special meeting today of the Mulhouse plant’s Works
Council, management announced that production of the Peugeot 2008
urban crossover SUV would be further increased, this time to around
860 vehicles a day. This new increase in output will require the
organisation of a half night shift.
At the same meeting, management announced that the half shift on
the system 1 line, which produces the Citroën C4 and DS4, will be
terminated as of next 21 July. This will allow the positions on the
new half night shift to be filled internally.
Launched in Spring 2013, the Peugeot 2008 is still enjoying very
enthusiastic demand, with 120,000 orders to date.
Produced exclusively at the Mulhouse plant for the global market
except China and Latin America, the Peugeot 2008 was awarded the
“Guaranteed French Origin” label in September 2013, with 73% of its
components produced in France. It has also earned the five-star
rating in Euro NCAP impact tests.
The Peugeot 2008 has also been awarded nearly ten prizes in
Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, Poland and Turkey.
