With this appointment, immediately effective, Silver heads the company, which includes the Home Appliance Group, (microwaves, irons, vacuums); the Wellness Group (massage chairs, shavers, beauty products); and Panasonic Home & Environment Company, which sells ventilation fans. Silver succeeds Sam Takahashi, who has relocated to Japan to serve as Director of the Healthcare Business Unit at Panasonic Shikoku Electronics Company. Silver has previous experience in Panasonic's Wellness Group, as well as in the Systems and Automotive Sectors. Silver is a resident of West Caldwell, NJ. In other company moves, Bill Soderberg succeeds Silver and has been promoted to Group Head, Home Appliances Group and is responsible for the sales and marketing of products, such as the popular Inverter Microwaves and the award-winning Panasonic 360-Degree Quick Irons, which have a unique double-pointed soleplate to reduce iron time by 25%.
