The most serious side effects due to AstraZeneca PLC's Covid-19
vaccine occur in one in every 100,000 people vaccinated, the
European Medicines Agency said. The most serious side effect is
unusual blood clots with low blood platelets.
The benefits of taking the vaccine far outweigh the risks in
almost all cases, the agency said on Friday. A new analysis by the
EMA showed that the benefits of vaccination grow with the
increasing age of those getting vaccinated and the infection rate
of where they live.
