             HYDER CONSULTING PLC ("Hyder Consulting" or the "Company")

                     Resignation of Non-Executive Director


Hyder Consulting announces that Peter Higgins, a Non Executive Director,
resigned from the board of the Company on 30 September 2006. This is in
accordance with Mr Higgins's previously stated desire to retire from the Board
following the appointment of a new Non-Executive Director and follows the
appointment of Mr Paul Withers to the Board with effect from 27 September, as
recently announced.

Sir Alan Thomas, Chairman of Hyder Consulting commented, "We are grateful for
the very valuable contribution Peter has made during his time on the Board of
the Company and we wish him well in his retirement."
