Board resignation and appointment of Group Controller
The Board of Cambria Africa plc ("Cambria" or the "Company")
advises that it has accepted the resignation of Ms Tania Sanders,
who will resign her duties as Chief Financial Officer on November
30th, 2013.
At the same time, Cambria is also pleased to announce the
appointment of Ms Rhonda Wells as Group Financial Controller.
Rhonda will be joining us from Mecom Group plc, where she is the
Group Financial Controller. Prior to joining Mecom in 2007, she
spent 10 years at KPMG, most recently as Audit Senior Manager in
London Rhonda, who spent a significant part of her youth in Zambia
and South Africa, will share part of Tania's responsibilities with
Ms Nyaradzo Mudzamiri, who has since 2011 managed Strategy and
Corporate Development within Cambria.
Prior to joining Cambria, Nyaradzo was with KPMG Corporate
Finance in its Harare and Johannesburg offices.
Over the last 18 months, Cambria has seen a rapid transition
both within the Company as well as in the markets in which the
Company operates. The Company has made great strides simplifying
both its structure as well as the nature of its operations, and
will continue the execution of this strategy in the coming
periods.
As part of this streamlining process, Cambria has increasingly
delegated financial reporting responsibility to the management
teams of its investments, within the appropriate oversight
framework. The Board is therefore comfortable Cambria's current
Chief Financial Officer role can, going forward, be well divided
and managed between Rhonda and Nyaradzo.
Ms Wells and Ms Mudzamiri will report directly to Cambria's CEO,
Edzo Wisman. They will not be appointed to Cambria's Board, but
will between them join, among others, the Boards of Payserv Africa
and Millchem Holdings, as well as the Leopard Rock Hotel.
Ian Perkins, Cambria's Chair, comments: "On behalf of the Board
of Cambria, I thank Tania for her hard work, on-going vigour and
beneficial insights during the challenging transition period that
lies behind us now. She leaves Cambria with more robust and
transparent reporting and control systems in place, as well as a
much improved corporate secretarial function. We wish her the very
best in her future endeavours."
States Tania Sanders, who will remain a shareholder of Cambria:
"Having supported the Group through a remarkable period of
transformation, I wish the Company and its stakeholders every
success in the realisation of its strategy for growth."
