(OTC Bulletin Board: ETEC) ("Emtec" or the "Company") announced today that for the year ended August 31, 2008, consolidated operating income increased by over $6.01 million. Earnings per share for the year ended August 31, 2008, increased $0.25 to $0.09 per share from a loss of $0.16 per share in the prior year. Operating income for the Systems Division increased $5.62 million, to $2.94 million for the year ended August 31, 2008, compared to an operating loss of $2.68 million for the year ended August 31, 2007. This increase in operating income is primarily attributable to increased gross profit; decreased selling, general and administrative expenses; and the non-recurrence of charges in the year ended August 31, 2008 that were incurred in the year ended August 31, 2007 as a result of the amended employment agreements and management agreement entered into in February 2007. Our Global Services Operating income for the period from March 20, 2008 through August 31, 2008, was $392,673. Consolidated net income for the quarter ended August 31, 2008 was down slightly at $619,000 compared to $848,000 for the quarter ended August 31, 2007. Consolidated net income for the year ended August 31, 2008 was $1.32 million, compared to a net (loss) of $2.28 million for the year ended August 31, 2007. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization expenses (EBITDA) for the year ended August 31, 2008 was $4.67 million compared to an EBITDA loss of $1.51 million for the year ended August 31, 2007. EBITDA represents a non-GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) financial measure. A table reconciling this measure to net income (loss), the most closely comparable GAAP measure is included in this release.
