G. Willi-Food International Ltd. (NASDAQ: WILC) (the
"Company" or "Willi-Food"), a global company that
specializes in the development, marketing and international
distribution of kosher foods, announced today of a petition for
approval of a derivative action (the "Application") by one
purported shareholder of Willi-Food Investment Ltd ("Willi")
which was filed with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa District Court, against the
Company's directors and executive officers (collectively, the
"Defendants"). The Company and Willi have been named
as respondents to the Application.
The subject of the Application is a claim for alleged damages
caused to the applicant, and valued by him, at the date of the
Application, for approximately USD 3
million due to the alleged breach of fiduciary duties and
duty of care of the Defendants to the Company.
At this preliminary stage, the Company and Willi are currently
reviewing and evaluating the Application and claims therein.
