Share Purchase Options

Griffin Mining Limited ("the Company") announced that share purchase options
over 40,000 ordinary shares of US$0.10 each in the Company have today been
granted to each of Mr John Goodger, Mr Gordon Montgomery, Mr William Mulligan
and Mr John Steele, Directors of the Company.  The options are exercisable at
any time up to 31 December 1998 at an exercise price of US$0.50 per share.

Copies of this announcement will be available for a period of fourteen days
from the date hereof from the offices of Griffin Mining Limited, Whitehall
House, 41 Whitehall, London SW1A 2BY during normal business hours.
