Jupiter Dividend & Growth Trust PLC ('the Company') has received notification
from Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ('Aberdeen') that Aberdeen Preferred
Income Trust PLC sold 1,400,000 Ordinary Income Shares ('Shares') in the
Company on 12th October 2001. Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust PLC now holds
5,121,725 Shares representing 3.20% of the issued capital of that class of
shares.

On the 12th October 2001 Aberdeen also sold an additional 2,600,000 Shares on
behalf of discretionary funds under their management.

Aberdeen and its associated companies now manage 14,746, 725 Shares
representing 9.22% of the issued share capital of that class.
