Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ('Aberdeen')that as a result of sales of
14,333,000 Income shares on behalf of Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc and a
purchase of 14,333,000 Income shares on behalf of Aberdeen Preferred Income
Investment Trust Plc both on 30 May 2000, Aberdeen High Income Trust Plc now
holds 620,000 shares representing 0.25% of the issued share capital of that
class and Aberdeen Preferred Income Trust Plc now holds 23,533,000 M&G IIT
Income shares representing 9.49 of the issued share capital of that class.
Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited now manages a total of 27,353,366 IIT Income
shares representing 11.02% of the issued share capital of that class.
