Energizer Holdings Inc. (ENR) has agreed to recall about 260,000
night lights that were sold exclusively at Target Corp. (TGT)
stores due to a burn hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall
involves Energizer LED rotating night lights, which can overheat
and smoke. The night lights were sold at Target stores nationwide
from February 2010 through July 2012 for about $6.
Energizer received nine reports of the products overheating,
including three reports of minor property damage, the CPSC said. No
injuries have been reported.
The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using and unplug
the recalled night lights.
Energizer shares were off by nine cents to $68.27 in recent
trading. The stock has fallen 12% since the start of the year.
