Renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis (EDPR.LB) said Thursday it has increased its installed capacity by 1,455 megawatts in the first half of this year, a 38% rise from the same period in 2008.

The company said in a filing with regulators that total additions in the first half of the year amount to 249 MW, of which 200 MW came from U.S. operations.

EDPR has 1.3 GW under construction, of which 760 MW comes from Europe and 501 MW from the U.S.

Wind power output rose 33% from the first half of 2008, with U.S. operations being the major contributor.
