RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI) announced today that with the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ now underway, it is kicking off a new sweepstakes for its customers offering a chance to win an authentic jersey from their favorite international soccer team. The company will also provide text alerts with daily results and reminders for matches.

"As the worldwide popularity and excitement generated by this classic soccer competition continues to explode, RCN is enhancing its coverage of the games and spreading the spirit of the 2010 FIFA World Cup by offering this sweepstakes opportunity to our customers," said RCN's Senior Vice President of Marketing Mike Roddy. "The promotion lets customers tell us their favorite soccer team, and then they are entered to win an authentic jersey from that team."

Customers can enter the sweepstakes online by going to www.rcn.com/watchthecup. Entrants can pick from a list of teams and indicate their preferred jersey size. There will be one winner selected in each of RCN's markets: Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, Pa., New York City, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Winners will be alerted by July 30.
