Office now offers secure credit card
payments
This year it will be easier than ever for residents of Miller
County to beat the property tax deadline. The Collector’s Office
today announced that it is taking credit card payments, meaning
residents can avoid a trip to the Collector’s Office and pay their
taxes in minutes from anywhere with an Internet connection at
ar.gov/millerproptax.
“We are thrilled to offer this convenient and mobile-friendly
payment option to our taxpayers,” Miller County Collector Cathy
Hardin said. “Arkansans are increasingly connected to the world
through their smartphones, and I am so happy to make it easy for my
constituents to pay their taxes on the go with just a few taps, if
they wish.”
Hardin said taxpayers can also sign up for a service called
eNotify when paying their tax bill online. After registering,
eNotify will alert taxpayers by email when their statements are
ready, saving the county the costs of paper, postage and manpower
used in mailing out forms.
The Miller County Tax Collector partnered with the state’s
eGovernment service provider, Information Network of Arkansas
(INA), to develop the secure payment system, which ensures privacy,
security and data integrity. Credit card transactions include a
processing fee to cover the cost of the system, which INA developed
for the county free of charge.
Miller County personal property and real estate taxes are due
March 1 and must be paid before October 15. Residents and business
owners can pay their county taxes online with a Visa, MasterCard,
Discover, American Express credit card or an electronic check
through a secure payment processing system. Payments can also be
made in person at the Miller County Courthouse, by phone, or by
mailing a check payable to the Miller County Tax Collector.
