Bourbon County Treasurer, Rhonda Dunn, is pleased to announce
the launch of a new service that enables the county office to
accept property tax payments online.
The Bourbon County Treasurer’s Office partnered with the
Information Network of Kansas (INK) to provide online access to
property tax payments through the Kansas Property Tax Payment
service. The Kansas Property Tax Payment application allows
taxpayers to make property tax payments from their desktop or
mobile device. INK operates under a self-funded model, and no
appropriated dollars were used to develop and maintain the payment
service.
“To provide good customer service, the County has to provide
multiple ways for the Taxpayers to pay their taxes,” said Dunn. “We
are very happy to offer online payments in Bourbon County. While we
will continue to offer the same services to taxpayers who choose to
pay their taxes at the Courthouse, we hope this additional service
results in time savings for the users and reduces lines for all
taxpayers.”
Bourbon County residents may begin making payments through the
online service now. First-half payments for property taxes are due
on December 20, 2014. Second-half tax payments are accepted
beginning in January 2015.
Access to your tax account requires a current tax statement
issued by the Bourbon County Treasurer’s Office. Additionally, the
following must be true:
- Accounts cannot have a prior year tax
delinquency
- Accounts must not be in protest or
dispute
- Funds must be drawn on a U.S. bank
account
