Dow Jones News
Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN), and oil and gas company, said Tuesday
operator Kosmos Energy announced the Odum-2 appraisal well offshore
Ghana, in which Tullow is a 23% partner, on the West Cape Three
Points Block encountered 20 meters of net oil pay in two intervals
that appear to be in static pressure communication with the Odum-1
well.
MAIN FACTS:
-Drilling, wireline logs and reservoir fluid samples show Odum-2
well penetrated net hydrocarbon-bearing pay of 20 meters in
high-quality stacked sandstone reservoirs over gross interval of
182 meters.
-Odum-2 well encountered oil-water contact 58 meters below
lowest-known oil in Odum-1 well, extending the known oil column
beyond the deepest oil seen in the Odum-1.
-Reservoir fluid samples recovered indicate oil gravity of 18-19
degrees API.
-Second of four oil and gas discoveries by Kosmos in offshore
Ghana.
