Contract Win

Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security, communication and surveillance systems, announces that its new subsidiary, Affini Technology (Affini), has been awarded a contract worth £0.4 million to supply and install a new digital radio system.

The existing system is end-of-life and the customer required a new system that will deliver strong and reliable coverage across a prestigious central London site that includes entertainment and hospitality venues as well as schools and student accommodation. The location has some challenging environments comprising multiple multi-level buildings and the implementation of the new system is to be scheduled to ensure the site's ongoing operations will be uninterrupted.

First equipment deliveries are expected to be made before year end, and the system is scheduled to be fully installed in the first quarter of 2025 with ongoing maintenance and support being provided for an initial three year term.

Affini Technology (Affini) was acquired by Petards in June 2024 and is a UK based wireless critical communications solutions provider to the transport, blue light, energy defence and construction sectors. The Affini business  originates from 1974 when the radio division of the organisation that formed British Airways was carved out as a separate business. Historically, Affini's core capability was the design, deployment and ongoing maintenance of critical communications networks within the aviation sector.  The foundation of these solutions focused on radio technologies, for both landside and airside Private Mobile Radio (PMR) networks as well as ground to air communications within airports.
