Cientifica Plc, the AIM quoted investment company focussing on the acquisition of businesses making use of advanced materials, graphene and emerging technologies, formerly Avia Health Informatics PLC (Avia), announces that the Company change of name has been completed and that Tim Harper has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He became a non-executive Director of Avia on re-listing. The change of name will take effect on the London Stock Exchange with effect from market opening today, 8(th) November 2013 and the Company's trading symbol with change from AVIA.L to CTFA.L at this time. The ISIN of the Company, GB00B4YSYV64, remains unchanged.

In connection with the name change, the Company's website address has changed to www.cientifica.com. This address contains the information required pursuant to AIM Rule 26.

The Company intends to focus initially on the acquisition of businesses utilising applications of graphene. Graphene is a two dimensional material consisting of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb or chicken wire structure. It is the thinnest material known and yet is also one of the strongest. It conducts electricity as efficiently as copper and outperforms all other materials as a conductor of heat. Graphene is almost completely transparent, yet so dense that even the smallest atom helium cannot pass through it. The European Commission recently announced funding of one billion Euros for graphene research.

Tim Harper, Chief Executive trained as a physicist and worked for the European Space Agency performing surface analysis, electron microscopy and materials analysis before leaving to found Cientifica Ltd and to focus on smaller businesses and emerging technologies.

He has worked in venture capital, consulting, advanced materials and scientific instruments with industry leaders Nanosight and Izon Science. He was a co-founder of Nanosight Ltd, a successful scientific instrument company recently acquired by Spectris Plc.

Mr Harper has advised and chaired various Government panels looking at nanotechnology and other emerging technologies. He is also a founding member of the World Economic Forum Council on Emerging Technologies, which gives him access to scientists, entrepreneurs and institutions worldwide.
