Portuguese telecommunications company Sonaecom SGPS S/A (SNC.LB) said Wednesday its fourth-quarter net profit almost quadrupled on the year, due to an improvement in operational performance from mobile businesses. MAIN FACTS: - Fourth-quarter net profit surged to EUR11.5 million from EUR3 million a year earlier. - Revenue increased to EUR236.6 million in the fourth quarter from EUR232.8 million over the same comparative period. - Fourth-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization grew to EUR45 million from EUR39.1 million. - Full-year 2010 net profit rose to EUR41.2 million from EUR5.7 million in 2009. - Sonaecom, controlled by Portuguese conglomerate Sonae SGPS SA (SON.LB), is a competitor of Portugal Telecom SGPS SA (PT) and Zon Multimedia SGPS SA (ZON.LB).
