                              EXERCISE OF OPTIONS


Mr Dal S Brynelsen a non- executive director of Griffin Mining Limited
("Griffin") has exercised options over 300,000 new ordinary shares in Griffin at
an exercise price of 5 pence per share. Application has today been made for
these new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM which is expected to
occur on Friday 20th December 2002. Following the issue of these new ordinary
shares there will be 103,557,248 Griffin ordinary shares in issue and Mr Dal S
Brynelsen will have an interest in 300,001 ordinary shares representing 0.3% of
the issued share capital of Griffin.
